Millor Sommelier de Catalunya 2019

18-11-2019 16:00 18-11-2019 18:00 Europe/Madrid Millor Sommelier de Catalunya 2019 Launched by the Association of Catalan Sommeliers, the award for the best sommelier of Catalonia, will put the participants to test, requiring them to take part in an intensive day of exams and tests. A professional jury of 10 prestigious specialists will evaluate the 20 participants. Delivery of the special prize Vilajuïga to the 3 finalists of the 2019 Best Sommelier of Catalonia competition, promoted by the Catalan Association of Sommeliers.

18-11-2019 18:00 18-11-2019 18:15 Europe/Madrid InnoFòrum Awards Fórum Gastronómico Barcelona 2019 will also give out the Innoforum awards which are a recognition of gastronomic innovation. As always, there will be three categories: the most innovative product, the most creative packaging and the most original flavour. The products presented must have been launched on the market within the 12 months before this edition of the Fòrum Gastronòmic. In order to participate in the Innoforum Prizes the inscription form must be filled in.

19-11-2019 11:00 19-11-2019 16:00 Europe/Madrid TheBestDessert – EspaiSucre Organised by Espaisucre with the collaboration of Valrhona and Sosa Ingredients as well as Fòrum Gastronòmic and Alimentaria Exhibitions. A maximum of 6 finalists will have 5 hours to create a restaurant dessert of their choice and one of chocolate. The jury will be made up of gastronomic journalists and the following pastry chefs: Albert Adrià, Jordi Butrón, Jordi Cruz, René Frank, Philippe Regol, Jordi Roca and Xano Saguer. They will award the TheBestDessert-Espaisucre prize to the best pastry chef 2019 and the Valrhona Prize to the best chocolate restaurant dessert. Albert Adrià will also be honoured with the Pierre Gagnaire Award for his contribution and advancement of patisserie. From 14:00h to 16:00h the jury will taste the desserts made by the participants.

19-11-2019 12:30 19-11-2019 14:00 Europe/Madrid Asian Culinary Awards Asian Culinary Awards – UDON & Fòrum Gastronòmic is the contest, born of the alliance between UDON Noodle Bar & Restaurant and the Fòrum Gastronòmic, which aims to find the country’s best Asian recipe created by a professional chef. The contest, which comes to the fourth edition, is open to working chefs and students or professionals from the gastronomic sector. The contestants have to create an Asian dish suitable to be on the menu in the UDON restaurants, in front of a professional jury who will judge the creation on originality, harmony and a contrast of flavours and ingredients. The Catalonia of 2019 is a country where realities and cultures from all over the planet co-exist. Gourmands that we are, we like to discover the cuisines that our new neighbours bring us, and, over time, incorporate some of their dishes into our diet, sometimes from the other side of the world. This edition of the Favourite Dish of the Catalans bears the motto ‘Cuisine without Boarders’ and we aim to ask ourselves which of these dishes we like best. From sushi to couscous, from ceviche to pad thai, the voters of the New Favourite Dish of the Catalans will choose which of the 12 dishes in the competition is the one we like best.
